Vasquez Valdarama was born and raised near the small community of Advancing Falls in Hammerfell. It was here as a small boy he first met Mirabella Angelis.
It was love at first sight.
Their family situation could not have been more contrasting. Vasquez’s family were of noble birth but had little or no wealth. The Angelis family were rich and powerful.
However, money was no barrier to Mirabella’s heart and she swore to love Vasquez as long as they both lived. Mirabella’s father was not so open hearted. He frowned on an impoverished match with the third son of a destitute house and forbade the relationship altogether. However, Mirabella’s mother intervened and wrung from her husband a promise to support the marriage if Vasquez could ever collect 100 000 septims. Vasquez immediately set out to acquire this fortune.
The stories of Vasquez Valdarama and his adventures are enough to fill several volumes. A typical tale is that of the village of Wailing Hills. The village hired Vasquez to help rid them of a band of marauders who where preying on the local townships. Vasquez single handedly took on the ten strong gang in their cave hide away putting all to the sword. In the marauders loot chest he found a fortune, rumored to be close to 60 000 septims.
However, Vasquez was so moved by the plight of the starving populations of Wailing Hills and the surrounding communities who had been under the lash of the gang for years that he gave away the fortune to help them.
While such tales were music to Mirabella’s ears, they only confirmed her father’s poor opinion of Vasquez
When Mirabella’s father passed away, her mother told Vasquez that he was free to marry at any time, however, Vasquez was a man of honor. He had made a solemn deal with the late Mr Angelis and he intended to keep his word. He would not take Mirabella as his bride until he had 100 000 septims to his name.
It was only when Mirabella’s life was threatened that he agreed to flee Hammerfell, and to seek a new life in Cyrodiil. Vasquez is of the old school.
